Kathleen Wolf Obituary

Kathleen Marie Wolf, 98, of 1711 Ohio, Quincy, formerly of Payson, died at 4 p.m. Saturday (June 16, 2012), in the Good Samaritan Home.

She was born June 25, 1913, in Quincy, the daughter of John Christian and Bertha Katherine Schleicher Quest. On Nov. 16, 1933, she married Edward F. Wolf in Lutheran Church of St. John in Quincy. He died June 9, 1993.

She was employed by Schmidt's Grocery store in Payson for six years and had worked as a sewing instructor at Singer Sewing Co.

She was a member of Lutheran Church of St. John where she was a member of the Mary and Martha Guild and Ladies Aid where she was past president and held other offices. She was a former Sunday school teacher, former choir member and volunteered with the Lutheran Braille Workers. She was a member and past member of Payson PTA, 1952-1953, past president of Adams County PTA Council, past district director and state board member of PTA from 1956-1960, holds a life membership in State PTA which was awarded by Payson grade school and high school PTA's, past member of the Garden Club, past member of Blessing Hospital Guild and Blessing Hospital Auxiliary, member of Home Extension where she was president of the Day Unit 1951 and 1952, member of Lutheran Hour Sponsor Plan, member of the Board of Adams County Senior Citizens Council and AARP. She was leader of the 4-H Payson girls for five years.

Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn (Lester) Kaufman of Quincy, Doris Kidd of Carlisle, Pa., and Nancy (Phil) Featheringill of Quincy, a son; Kenneth E. (Barb) Wolf of Quincy; 10 grandchildren, Mark (Caree) Kaufman of Palm Harbor, Fla., Kevin (Becky) Wolf of Quincy, Kendall (Kim) Wolf of Quincy, Kurt (Tonya) Wolf of Liberty, and Kim (John) Miller of Quincy, Karen Wolf of Quincy, Tim (Rachel) Kidd of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Kristy (Jim) Cottone of Glenmoore, Pa., Tara (Mike) Schneider of North Haven,

Conn., and Erin (Roy) Serio of Lakemore; 30 great-grandchildren, Drew, Shawn, Chase, Hailey, Heidi and Avery Kaufman, Rebecca, Katelyn, Carly, Shawn, Kaylee, Alexi, Conner, Carson, and Cannon Wolf, Kory Oliver, Justin and Kristin Martin, Madelyn and Carter Miller, Max Giles, Oliver, Gideon and Nigel Kidd, Isabella and Abigail Cottone, Baylee and Grant Schneider, and Kayla and Charlie Serio; a granddaughter-in-law, Mary Ann Kaufman of Quincy, and a sister, Marjorie Ballard of O'Fallon and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, David L. Kaufman; a son-in-law, Delbert Kidd, and two sisters, Dorothy Meckes and Leona Quest.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Lutheran Church of St. John with the Rev. Jeremy Latzke conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.

MEMORIALS: Lutheran Church of St. John or Good Samaritan Home.
