Lynn Schrader Obituary

HAMILTON, Ill. -- Lynn Gordon Schrader, 64, died Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2014) in his home in Sumas, Wash. He was formerly of Sutter, Ill., and Seattle, Wash.

Lynn was born March 7, 1949. He was the son of Melvin William and Eleanor Susannah Gordon Schrader.

He graduated from Warsaw High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in pipe organ performance at MacMurray College in Jacksonville and a master's degree in humanities from Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y.

Lynn was a certified fundraising executive in the Seattle area. He was the first development director in the Pacific Northwest to earn his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification. He worked with several non-profit groups in the Seattle area. He also worked as a private consultant for several non-profit groups. He was active in the Association of Fund Raising Professionals and many other professional organizations.

He is survived by his mother, Susannah Schrader, and his brother, Brian Schrader, both of Hamilton, and his partner, Greg Bushman of Sumas.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.

SERVICES: Will be held at a later date. Cremation rites were accorded.

ARRANGEMENTS: Westford Funeral Home and Crematory Services, Bellingham, Wash.

You could not ask for a better friend than Lynn, both professionally or personally. He was generous with his time and knowledge, volunteered for numerous boards and committees, always had a smile or a kind word. He lifted your spirits. His promises were kept and his friendship unqualified. Lynn will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences to his partner, Greg, and to his family.
