Maxine Moran Obituary

Maxine Moran, 89, of Quincy, formerly of Clayton, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday (March 5, 2008) in Sunset Home in Quincy. Born July 4, 1918, in Brown County, Mrs. Moran was a daughter of Jesse and Mearle Boss Bent. She married Chester "Bud" Moran on Aug. 31, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Dec. 25, 1956. Maxine was a member of Clayton Christian Church and a graduate of Clayton High School. Mrs. Moran was employed at Grandview Manor Nursing Home in Camp Point for several years and later worked for her daughter at the Coffee Shop in Clayton as a cook until her retirement. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Ennen and her husband, Everett, of Clayton; a granddaughter, Tammy Smith and her husband, Terry, of Clayton; two great-granddaughters, Tonya Hanner and her husband, Jake, of Salem, and Teresa Clauss and her husband, Jeff, of St. Louis; a brother, Herschel Bent of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bent of Palmyra, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Michael Moran; a sister, Louise Cassada; and a brother, Lionel Bent. GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in the South Side Cemetery in Clayton by the Rev. Terry Cain. VISITATION: There is no visitation, but friends are invited to attend the graveside service.
