Maxwell was born December 4, 1996, in Quincy, IL to April King and Todd (Stacey) Wombles. They survive.

Other survivors include his brothers, Jordan Stovall of Hannibal, MO and Spencer Wombles of Quincy, IL; stepbrothers, Austin Beebe and Brandon Werneth; stepsisters, Amber Beebe and Brittany Werneth; grandparents, Nancy & Bob Cook, Jim Goehl, Judie Jenkins, and Dennis & Bird Wombles; nephew, Vince Wombles; as well as many other special nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Maxwell was preceded in death by his grandparents Allen W King, Dick Jenkins, and Brenda Goehl; great-grandmothers, Lola Boone and Leota Shouppe; and one great-uncle, Dave Wombles.

Maxwell worked as the HR director for Voss Landscaping.

Maxwell loved spending time with his family and friends. There was hardly a time where you could find Maxwell by himself. He frequented the Harrison Pub and the Cedar Club where you`d find him playing darts or pool. He took many memorable trips with his friends. Max enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and playing indoor soccer. If Maxwell got to choose dinner, The Abbey was his number one choice followed close by The Tower. There was a special place in his heart for barbecue, especially if his friend Blake was the grill master. Maxwell also enjoyed listening to music by The Beatles, Tom Petty, and Motley Crüe, and playing with his sister Ginger the dog. Maxwell will be remembered for his quick wit, kindhearted nature, and love for everyone he met.

Maxwell was Christian by faith and attended The Crossing Church.
