Mrs. Neva May Miller, age 89, of rural Ewing, MO passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
She was born March 24, 1933, in Emerson, MO a daughter of Malcolm Obadiah and Mary Rosabel Snow Lumley. She married James Richard Miller on May 2, 1959, at the New Providence Presbyterian Church in Benbow, MO. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on May 2nd and lived and worked together on the family farm where they raised livestock and had row crops.
Neva was a member of the Philadelphia Christian Church and was known for being a great cook (especially her pies) She enjoyed gardening, sewing, puzzles, and time with family and always looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband James R. Miller of rural Ewing; three children, Rolla (Mary) Miller of Calhan, CO, Rodney (Carol) Miller of Palmyra and Brenda (Pat) Murphy of Fenton, MO; seven grandchildren, Melany (Jeremy) McKnight of Calhan, CO, Tracy (Merrell) Bennett of Peyton, CO, Adrienne Miller of Calhan, CO, Tiffany (Jeremy) Hultz of Palmyra, MO, Tom Miller of Palmyra, MO, Trevor Miller of Palmyra, MO and Michaela Murphy of Salt Lake City, UT; nine great grandchildren, Kaylie McKnight, Tanner McKnight, Liv Bennett, Jordan Bennett, Owen Hultz, Noah Hultz, Harper Miller and Ava Miller; sister, Helen (William) Mueller of Quincy, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Lavada Lumley.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, MO with Pastor Pat Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Ewing Memorial Cemetery, Ewing, MO. Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until time of services in the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Philadelphia Christian Church in care of Ball-Davis Funeral Home, Ewing, MO.
