Norma M. Disseler

QUINCY -- Norma M. Disseler, 95, of Quincy, died at 4:38 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Home.

Born June 11, 1920, in Quincy, Norma was a daughter of Gustav Herman and Laura Degitz Zimmerman. She married Roger Disseler on April 17, 1948, in Quincy. He preceded her in death May 14, 1985.

Norma was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and active with the Placematters at Good Samaritan Home. She was an avid Quincy High School Blue Devil basketball fan and a diehard Cubs fan. Norma had a great love of music and she enjoyed singing.

A 1938 graduate of Quincy High School, Norma had been employed at the International Shoe Factory and then in the delicatessen at Niemann Foods at Ninth and Jefferson for many years until her retirement.

Survivors include four children, Pastor R. Steven Disseler (Dr. Jean) of Quincy, Michael A. Disseler of Morris, Mary Jo Wills (David) of Albany, Ore., and Laurie Henry (Steve) of Taylorville; three grandchildren, Lindsay Anne Wills, Katie Robbin Wills and Sumner Henry; a brother, John R. Zimmerman of Texas; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger; a daughter, Robbin Sue; a grandson, Daniel Disseler; a great-grandson, Hunter Disseler; five brothers, Orville, Earl, Lester, Emmett and James Zimmerman; and two sisters, Irma Dabney and Lorene Wolter.

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Greenmount Cemetery with Chaplain James Riley conducting.

VISITATION: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

MEMORIALS: Foose Center at Good Samaritan Home.
