Raymond Weems

1926 - 2018

QUINCY -- Raymond Weems, 92, of Quincy, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at Blessing Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1926, in Iuka, a son of Austin Herbert and Mandy Estella (Dial) Weems. He married Darlene Louderback on Aug. 5, 1950. She survives.

He served in the United States Army during WWII. Raymond owned and managed Weems Appliance Repair, farmed and built several houses. Most recently, he worked as a lab technician for Colt Industries. He was a member of the Christian Church. Raymond was a member of the American Legion Post No. 312, St. Charles, Mo.

Raymond loved fishing, hunting, playing guitar, singing and antiquing. Most of all, Raymond loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he also is survived by two children, Sandra Graham and her spouse Steve of Pontiac and Janice Irwin and her spouse Dean of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandchildren, Nicole Graham and her spouse Dre, and Craig Hoffman; eight step-grandchildren, Matthew Graham and his spouse Jennifer, Chad Graham and his spouse Jannelle, Amy Fazio and her spouse Tommy, MaryBeth Irwin, Mike Irwin and his spouse Mercedes, Carolyn Lund and her spouse Kurt, Robin Irwin and Joe Irwin; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, H.D. Weems and his spouse Mary; one sister, Betty Ewalt and her spouse Bud; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Raymond was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Weems; and two sisters, Sherla Johnston and Anna Weems; three brothers-in-law, Bert Johnston, Russell Louderback Jr. and Eugene Louderback, who was killed in service during WWII; and a son-in-law, Eric Dehm.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery.

VISITATION: noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
