Roger Butts Obituary

QUINCY -- Roger William Butts, 72, of Quincy died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at his home. Roger was born July 20, 1945, in Aurora, the only son of Vernon and Annabelle (Lowe) Butts. He married Barbara Ann Dice on Sept. 25, 1995, in Bailey Harbor, Wis., and she survives.

After serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, Roger worked at J.M. Huber Co. for 31 years before retiring. Retirement brought him much happiness, playing golf at Westview with his "golf buddies," and driving cars for both Poage dealerships with his "driving buddies."

In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Will (Lori) Butts of Palmyra, Mo.; Laura (Ed) Steinway of Chatham, and Jennifer (John) Perry of Bloomington; grandchildren, Abby and Maddie Steinway, Nathan Butts, Dalton Bush and David and Lyla Perry; his sister Betty (Butch) Gronewold of Ursa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donna (Dale) Frericks of Quincy and Donald (Kathy) Dice of Arbela, Mo.; and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, Jason (Katie) Frericks and their daughter Clara, Heather (Brent) Schmidt and their children Tristan and Annabelle, Kelly (Mark) Thannert and their daughter Olivia, Stefanie (David) Ford and their children Ethan and Natalie, Nicole (Jason) Marshall and their daughter Alyssia and Matt Dice.

Also surviving are his special little ones who brought him so much sunshine and laughs on some difficult days -- Brody and Brenner Cole, Laci and Ty Novosel, Landon and Harper Douglas, Mark Morriss, Tynan England and Hayley Buckley.

Roger's very best four-legged friends Chloe and Pee Wee also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eldon and Anna Dice.

I have many memories of Roger when we were kids, he lived in Marceline Il. just behind our house, and we were the best of friends all through high school. He will be missed, so sorry to here this and will be praying for his family.
