Roger Thomas Littleton, 67, of Quincy, met his Savior on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Guymon, OK.
Roger was born June 21, 1958, in Quincy, IL to James and Patricia (Dunker) Littleton. On October 20, 1979, Roger married the love of his life, Patricia "Patty" Fortner, at Central Baptist Church in Quincy, IL. Their union was blessed with love, laughter, and two wonderful daughters. Patty remains to honor his memory and continue his legacy of love.
Roger's family was the center of his world. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Littleton of Denver, CO, and Danielle White (Timothy) of Quincy, IL; his cherished grandchildren, Nora and Isla White; and a grandson who was eagerly anticipated. He also leaves behind his brother, Paul Littleton (Melody); his sister, Marsha Hickerson; and many nieces, nephews, and trucking friends who became like brothers to him over the years. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joyce Buddemeyer; and one brother, Russell Littleton.
Roger was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1976. Following in his father's footsteps, he dedicated nearly five decades to a career in trucking, where he was respected for his work ethic and camaraderie. He especially enjoyed the past eight years working for BNC Trucking. Over his long career, he hit a 5-million-mile record. Roger's faith was the cornerstone of his life. As a devout member of Columbus Road Baptist Church, he served as a Sunday School teacher, drove the van for Awana, and reveled in the fellowship that followed each service. His faith was evident in his kindness and his unwavering support for his family.
Roger's interests were as varied as they were passionate. An avid golfer, he relished the time spent on the greens at Westview with his brother, especially when participating in charity tournaments such as COE College Athletics. A lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, he enjoyed the simple pleasure of listening to baseball games on the radio. His support for the Philadelphia Eagles was strengthened by his pride in his cousin's role as a renowned Offensive Line coach and Run Game Coordinator, Jeff Stoutland. Roger and Patty's love for travel took them on adventures to Israel, Costa Rica, Alaska, and Disney, each trip creating lasting memories.
Above all, Roger was a family man who cherished the quiet moments at home. Whether he was reading the newspaper and chuckling at the Dilbert comic, enjoying music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, masterfully grilling for his family, or playing Skip-bo with Patty, he was happiest surrounded by his loved ones. Known for his hardworking nature, Roger was always striving to provide for his family, his generosity knew no bounds. Roger's legacy of giving continued even after his passing, as he chose to be an organ donor, a final act of kindness that encapsulated his generous and faith-filled spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
