Ronald Dean Cramm, age 83, of Quincy, died Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 9:53 pm in Good Samaritan Home.
Ron was born November 14, 1940, in Quincy, IL, the son of Oscar and Edith Ellerbrock Cramm. He married Sharon Nichols on September 6, 1969, in Ursa. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1997. He married Erma Merker Porter on June 26, 1999, in Lima, IL. She survives.
Ron was a 1958 graduate of Mendon High School. He worked at FS in Paloma before going to work on the family farm with his brother, Don. The two owned and operated Cramm Brothers Family Farm until 1990. Ron went to work at Sharkey Transportation where he remained for over 20 years. He then drove a school bus for Mendon school district for four years until his retirement. Ron was in the army reserves. The Cramms are long time members of Ursa Zion Church. Ron was also a member of the Ursa Lions Club. He was a die-hard Unity sports fan and rarely missed a game. He also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Ron was a hardworking man and was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Erma, include: two children, Heather (Jason) Goodwin of Memphis, MO, and Craig (Jennifer) Cramm of Ursa, IL; three step-children, Nancy (Sam) March of Mendon, IL, James (Kim) Porter of Ursa, IL, and Brenda (Dan) Asher of Mascoutah, IL; five grandchildren, Megan Goodwin, Steven Goodwin, Erica (Kody) McCleary, Travis Cramm, and Justin Cramm; six step-grandchildren, Brent (Heidi) Asher, Katy (Struther) Wand, Brooke (Jaun) Santana, Tim Porter, Shari (Javier) Lofton, and Tyler (Becky) Porter; 10 great grandchildren and one on the way; a sister-in-law Marie Damon; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Edith Cramm, his first wife Sharon, twin daughters Christy and Connie, and a brother Donald.
Visitation: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Wednesday May 22, 2024, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Services: 10:00 am Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Ursa Zion Church, with Rev. Ralph Fairchild officiating. Burial will follow at New Providence Cemetery in Ursa.
