Russell J. "Russ" Daniels, of Quincy, died Monday, October 9, 2023, at Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living.
Russ was born October 6, 1933, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Roy and Viola Still Daniels. He married Judy A. Sprick on May 25, 1957, in Central Baptist Church. She survives.
Russ served in the US Army from 1956 - 1958. He worked at Quincy Compressor and was a 25-year club member there. He was also a past member of the Elks Club. Russ was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, Quincy Blue Devils fan, and loved fishing in Minnesota and traveling with Judy. Russ and Judy always looked forward to the weekly "Breakfast Club" gatherings with friends and former co-workers.
In addition to his wife, Judy, Russ is survived by two sisters in law, Pat Daniels and Lynn Sprick; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herschel and Billy Daniels; a brother-in-law, Ron Sprick; and his father and mother-in-law, John and Wilma Sprick.
Visitation: 9:00 - 10:00 am Friday, October 13, 2023, at Central Baptist Church.
Memorial Services: 10:00 am Friday, October 13, 2023, at Central Baptist Church with Chaplain Josh Vahle officiating. Inurnment at Greenmount Cemetery to follow.
