Shawn M. Unglesbee

Shawn M. Unglesbee, 22, of 735 S. 13th St., Quincy, died at 6:52 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 14, 2014) in his home.

He was born May 5, 1992, in Quincy, a son of Michael and Sherri Hidy Unglesbee.

Shawn was a graduate of Quincy High School and had worked at The Quincy Herald-Whig.

He loved music and gaming, especially on his Nintendo and PlayStation. He liked skateboarding, bicycling and watching movies. He had a way of tormenting people, especially his mom. Despite his physical appearance and his battle with epilepsy, Shawn was a brave young man with a heart of gold.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his grandmother, Phyllis Hidy, of Quincy; a brother, Matthew Unglesbee, of Quincy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Shawn was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dormand Hidy; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Betty Lynch; and an uncle, Larry Hidy.

SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, in Quincy Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Henry Pratt conducting.

VISITATION: There will be no visitation, but family and friends are invited to the graveside services.
