Stan Subeck, beloved husband of Suzi Subeck, loving father of Lisa Subeck and Scott (Tara) Subeck, proud grandfather of Payton, Reagan, Scarlett, Cooper and Carson, dear brother of Bruce (Barbara) Subeck (Tucson, AZ), Uncle of Ben (Becca) Subeck (Walnut Creek, CA). Elder son of Esther and Milton Subeck (Quincy, Ill.)
Stan was an accomplished tournament bridge player. He will be missed by his family as well as his many bridge-playing friends around the world. Stan was an avid golfer and a dedicated White Sox fan. Stanton, liked to be known as Stan. during his years growing up in the great school system and beautiful city of Quincy, Illinois which was the place to be if you did not want to be flooded by the Mississippi River
Stan was always off the charts of brilliance in school. He also became a very fast Boy Scout performer, earning Order of the Arrow and becoming an Eagle Scout for Troop 49 from Madison School with other well-known Quincy students. Troop 49 which became Explorer Post 107 taking care of Erroke Indian Museum.
Stan was a very good swimmer and water polo player for Sheridan Swim Club.
Stan graduated from QHS in 1967 where he played string bass. Upon graduation, having just turned 18, he started at the U of I as a 2nd semester junior with some very high-end classes. He was an Illinois State Scholar and a National Merit Finalist in High School.

Saddened to hear Stan has passed on. We went from Madison Elementary through QHS. He was always so nice to me. May God bless his soul & all who love him. Suellen Arnold Clarke
