Timothy Roidl Obituary

Timothy James Roidl, 50, of 135 Rock Street, Marquette, Mich., entered eternal life on Monday evening (March 30, 2009) shortly after admittance to Marquette General Hospital. Tim was born March 8, 1959, in Dubuque, Iowa, a son of Raymond J. and Mary A. Stierman Roidl. Tim's father was a career military and the family traveled around the world to his various duty assignments. In 1976, Tim graduated from Quincy High School in Quincy and in December of 1977 joined the U.S. Air Force, serving until April 1986. On July 11, 1987, Tim married the former Jeanne M. Weigel in Marquette and together the couple established a home and raised their family in Marquette. Tim was employed with Superior Ground Support on Baraga Avenue as a field repairman on de-icers. In April of 1991 he began employment with American Eagle as a A&P mechanic, where he was presently working. Tim was an avid bowler, having been association manager for Marquette County for many years as well as league secretary for various leagues throughout the years. He loved his yard and deck and spending time around his barbecue with family and friends. Tim was a staunch Cubs and Bears fan and computer problem solver, loving the task of seeking and resolving. He was a history buff, especially the Civil War, and World Wars I and II. He was a friend to many and never hesitated to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Tim is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jeanne; his children, Loretta (Paul) Tourish of Katy, Texas, Gerald Reynolds of Marquette, George Roidl of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joshua Roidl of Marquette and Jeremiah (Donna Black) Roidl of Marquette; his grandchildren, Jacob Holsinger, Kyra Ison, Zachary and Seth Tourish, and Breanna Roidl; his parents, Raymond and Mary Roidl of Quincy; three sisters, Kimberly Presley and June (Monty) Newbold, both of Quincy, and Robin (Dale) Schmidt of Dubuque, Iowa; two brothers, Jeff (Anette) Roidl and Tony Roidl, both of Quincy; his grandparents, Dan and Margie Licht of Dubuque, Ill.; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Weidel of Marquette; a sister-in-law, Kathleen (Jim) Porschet of Palm Coast, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Frederick (Olga) Weigel of Kingsville, Texas, and Timothy (Sandra) Weigel of Spring, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tim and I were stationed at Hurlburt together. He was a good friend. We use to tease him a bit because of his last name. We called him Hema Roidl. I can't realy say a lot because of my last name. I got teased a bit growing up. Tim worked in debrief and he was realy good at it. Like I said Good friend will miss him.
