Tommy Gibbons

Tommy Gibbons, age 81, of Frankford, MO passed away at 8:47 pm Thursday, October 9, 2025, at his home.

A graveside service will be held Monday, October 13, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Fairview Cemetery in Frankford, MO.

Tommy was born on January 13, 1944, in Hannibal, Missouri, to John and Fanny (Powell) Gibbons. He married Mary Butler on June 5,1965 and started a long and loving life together.

Tommy is survived by his wife Mary Gibbons of Frankford, MO, his son, Clifford Gibbons Sr. (Hope) of New London, MO; daughters, Tammy Sue Gibbons (James Ryland) of Louisiana, MO, and Karen Edmond (Brad Sparks) of Bowling Green, MO; and sister, Mildred Motley of Bowling Green, MO. Grandsons, Josh Edmond ( Destinie) McKinley and Ella, Justin Edmond (Elizabeth) Jayten, Adalynn, and Madison, Cliff Gibbons Jr. (Ashley) Harper, Aspyn, and Jaxxton, Hunter Gibbons, Callen Gibbons, Michael Flowerree (Nicole Pope) Kreed and Royal, and Erin Ryland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fanny (Powell) Gibbons, his son, Tommy Gibbons Jr., brothers Joe, Bob, James, Virgil, Raymond, Henry, and sisters Darlene Jennings and Gertrude Hall.

Tommy was known as Ducky to his fellow MODot workers where he worked driving snow plow and truck and doing general maintenance.

Tommy was a quiet man and enjoyed keeping to himself. He found joy in the simple pleasures of bird watching while sipping coffee, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and loved his dogs Taco and Candy. He even had a close relationship with the neighbors dog Nilla.

Pallbearers will be his Grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital of St. Louis, St Jude, and Pike County Hospice in care of Grand View Funeral Home.
