Vicki L. Catterson, 66, of Quincy, passed away at 12:16 pm Friday, October 27, 2023, at her residence in Quincy, IL.
Friends and Family are invited to Vicki's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Monday, November 6, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm Monday, November 6, 2023, at O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL. Rev. Steve Disseler will officiate.
Vicki was born July 27, 1957, in Chicago, IL to Ralph and Jewell (Taylor) Richardson. She married the love of her life, Ronnie "Ron" L. Catterson on June 20, 1975, in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2021.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie L. Catterson II (Maggie) of Quincy, IL; two grandchildren, Braigh and Aive Smith of Quincy, IL, and a great-granddaughter on the way; two sisters, Sandy Hall (Larry) of Paducah, KY, and Judy McClean of Macomb, IL; one niece, Angie Eager, of Ursa, IL; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Steve and Greg Richardson; and one sister, Gina Vinson.
Vicki worked in retail at Kmart and Faststop for many years but was most recently a homemaker.
In loving memory of Vicki, we remember a woman with a genuine zest for life and a heart full of diverse interests. She was a proud Chicago Cubs fan, having grown up near Wrigley Field and enjoyed attending afternoon games with school friends. Vicki's love for her Chicago roots remained strong even as her life journey took her to Olive Branch, Mississippi, where she cherished the proximity to her family in Paducah, Kentucky, and the opportunity to visit one of her favorite places, Tunica, Mississippi.
Vicki had a deep and abiding faith, often found reading her Bible. She was a playful and loving spirit, spending quality time with her friends and family playing games such as euchre or monopoly, all while sharing her signature "Vicki jokes" to lighten the mood.
Her passion for good food and gift-giving brought joy to her family and friends, making her a beloved presence in their lives. In these shared memories, Vicki's legacy continues to bring warmth and smiles to those who knew her.
