Victoria Allen Obituary

Victoria Lynn "Vicky" Allen, 53, of 634 S. 23rd, Quincy, died at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2013) in her home surrounded by her family.

Born Oct. 17, 1959, in Quincy, Vicky was a daughter of Alfred and Patsy Frame Griffin. She married John R. Allen on Nov. 12, 1977, in Quincy. He survives.

Vicky loved helping others and gave much of herself working with the Adams County Special Olympics for many years.

A 1977 graduate of Quincy High School, Vicky was employed for 25 years at Niemann Foods and later County Market, retiring as a scanning coordinator.

Survivors include her husband, John; her parents, Alfred and Patsy Griffin of Quincy; two sons, Jason R. Allen and his wife, Melanie, and Tim Allen, both of Quincy; a daughter, Stefanie Allen of Quincy; three brothers, David Griffin and Eddie Griffin, both of Quincy, and Terry Griffin and his wife, Maggie, of Brunswick, Ga.; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Vicky was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Griffin; and a sister in infancy, Katherine Griffin.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Henry Pratt. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and until the time of services Friday morning in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: Adams County Special Olympics

Very sorry. Vicky always remembered me and such a grand smile! I went to grade school with Ed. She remembered that and we would always stop and talk when bumping into each other...I really liked her and know she was a good sister! Thinking of all~
