BRENDA MERRITT Obituary

Brenda Lynn Merritt, 64, of Sautee Nacoochee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024.
Lynn was born on April 16, 1960, in Habersham County, to Virginia Allen Merritt and the late Paul Merritt. She was a 1978 graduate of White County High School and went on to further her education at Piedmont College and the University of Georgia. Her passion for learning led to a rewarding career as an educator with both the White County and Habersham County Board of Education. Lynn dedicated many years to nurturing the minds of students, retiring in 2020 after a fulfilling career.
In addition to her mother, Virginia Allen Merritt, she is survived by her brother, Johnny Merritt (Yvonne); niece, Lindsay Brooke Merritt Brown; nephew, Benjamin Logan Merritt; and several cousins who will also cherish her memory.
Funeral services to honor Lynn's life were held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home, with The Rev. Mike Franklin officiating. Interment followed at Old Nacoochee Baptist Church Cemetery.
