Eva Jameson Obituary

Eva Jean Cannon Jameson, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, Sept. 15 2025, following a brief illness.
Eva was a graduate of Rabun County High School. She then went on to Shorter College, where she majored in Music Education and Vocal performance. She taught music education and chorus for 33 years. An active member of Georgia Music Educators Association, she and husband Thomas were awarded in 2025 with the Distinguished Music Award.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Cannon, Sr., and brother H.E. Cannon, Jr. ("Steve").
Eva is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Jameson, her daughter Suzanne (Jeff) Varnes of Toccoa, son Kipp (Cara) Jameson of Cleveland, grandson Zachary Jameson, granddaughters Harper and Emmersyn Jameson, sister Kaye (Don) Smith of Smyrna, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date.
Flowers are welcome, but the family requests donations be sent to Piedmont University Music Department, Nacoochee.

I worked with Eva at South Gwinnett HS where she served the Comet community as choral director. She was such a kind-hearted and compassionate teacher and I enjoyed my time working with her. Thinking of her family at this difficult time.
