Died: March 23, 2025 in Prophetstown, IL
Glenn "Glenny" W. Jacobsen, 70, of Prophetstown, IL, died Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Allure Assisted Living, Prophetstown, IL. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 1:30 PM, at the Fenton Cemetery, Fenton, IL. A luncheon will follow at the Harvest Bakery in Erie at 2:00 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Erie, IL.
Glenny was born on May 3, 1954 in DeWitt, Iowa, to Glenn M. and Georgia (Boyd) Jacobsen. He graduated from Central DeWitt High School in 1973. Glenny enjoyed fishing, demolition derbies, and cars in general. Glenny never met a stranger, and once he met you, he would remember you forever. He was a natural at making everyone around him laugh.
He is survived by his nephews and nieces, Jeffrey (Charity) Griebel, and Christopher (Rebecca) Griebel all of Calamus, IA; great nephews and niece Brendan Williams, Brianna Williams, Brayden Williams, Chayse Griebel and Kinzie Griebel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia and Donald Ewers; and Glenn M. Jacobsen; sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Keith Griebel; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Dana Jacobsen; and nephews, Jason Griebel and Jacob Jacobsen.
