Died: October 30, 2024 in Erie, IL
Gordon Scott Ellis, 61, of Erie, Illinois passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at home. A Celebration of Life was held from 2-5 pm, Monday, November 4, 2024 at the home of Daniel and Kim Bond, 606-12th Ave, Erie, IL. He will be laid to rest with a private burial in the Erie Cemetery, Erie, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, is assisting the family.
Scott was born May 26, 1963 in Morrison, Illinois, the son of Gordon L. and Marjorie (Plumley) Ellis. He graduated from Erie High School in 1981. Scott married Angela R. Bond on October 7, 1983 in Norfolk, VA, while serving his country in the US Navy. He was an Electrician at ADM in Clinton for 26 years.
Scott played the guitar and enjoyed rock and roll music. He was a big Chicago Bears fan and a huge movie buff. He enjoyed watching Sci-Fi and Horror movies the most. Scott was a good and loving husband, father and grandfather. He cherished his dogs Boris and Natasha.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; daughter, Candace (David) Lutton, Clinton, IA; son, Ethan Ellis (Brooke Johnson) Geneseo, IL; mother, Marjorie Ellis, Erie; grandchildren, Kendra Campos, Jadyn Ellis, Chloe Ellis, and David H. Lutton; sisters, Sheryl Pequignot, Ft. Wayne, IN, Florence (Dan) Stevens, Camanche, IA, Carolyn (Steve) Elsik, Sycamore, IL, brothers-in-law, Daniel (Kim) Bond, Erie, Thomas (Teresa) Bond, Prairie Grove, AR, and David (Bev) Bond, West Fork, AR.
He was preceded in death by his father Gordon; maternal grandmother, Ida Mae Plumley and his paternal grandparents LeRoy and Florence Ellis. Share a memory or condolence at www.gibsonbodefh.com
