I was fortunate to know Bud for 12 years. I am a member of the Road Runners car club that Bud was a 50 year member. In those 12 years my respect for Bud grew each year. A true gentleman with not a bad bone in his body. His quiet manner and always ready to laugh endeared him to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. Veronica was particularly fond of Bud. His quiet demeanor (and appreciation of her deviled eggs) endeared him to her. I race at el Mirage and Bonneville as Bud did so I appreciate what efforts are required to set a record. John and Bud obviously worked very hard to achieve their records. In spite of that you would never hear Bud brag or even mention his records. It had to be dragged out of him. I'm sorry for going on here but I talked to Bud on the Tuesday of the club meeting and I am still in shock and disbelief. Our sincere sympathy to his family. May he rest in peace.

I was in the Road Runners car club with Bud for a few years. Bud was always a neat guy with a great disposition...The kind of guy you liked being around.... I can say this, being around Bud made me a better person and I can say that my life is better for knowing him... Bob Sykes Jr.

Bud has been a close friend since we were 12 years old(that's 55 years). He was a special person that everyone who knew him loved and respected him for the wonderful person that he was. You will be missed my friend and I will think of you often. Rest in peace knowing you have made a positive impact on a lot of people. I am proud to have known you and shared our friendship.
