Marjorie Prince Obituary

PRINCE-Marjorie Lois Prince. A Memorial Celebration for Marjorie Prince will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 for beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Marjorie Lois Prince, a long-time resident of Whittier, died May 22 at the age of 80. Prince was born in 1921 in Los Angeles, where she attended Manual Arts High School and served as student body vice president. She graduated with highest honors as an Ephebian and met the love of her life, George Prince, while at Manual. She attended Los Angeles Junior College, and married Prince in August of 1942. They raised their three children in Whittier. Prince relished being a homemaker, loving mother and beloved "Nanny" to eight grandchildren. An avid athlete, she was active in numerous golf clubs, serving in different officer positions and as toast mistress seve ral times. She will be remembered for her great wit, infectious laughter, and joy of life that touched all she met. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at 1:00 P.M. at the Rose Hills Memorial Park in the Memorial Chapel, 3888 S. Workman Mill Rd., enter through Gate #1. A Viewing will be held the 29th, between 8:00 A.M. & 11:45 A.M. in the Rose Hills Mortuary. Preceded in death by her husband, she is survived by her three brothers, Jack Hastings, Don Hastings and Bob Hastings, her three ch ildren and their spouses, John Prince and wife, Coralie of Long Beach; daughter, Pam Whyte and husband Jim of Whittier; and daughter Melinda Marks and husband Bill of Whittier. She leaves eight grandchildren; Jacqueline, Geoff and Julie Prince; Georgina, Jamie and Jeremy Whyte; and Heather and Coleen Marks.
