William Lee Obituary

LEE-William R . Lee, affectionately called "Bill", passed away of natural causes on April 14, 2010. A service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Sky Rose Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Road in Whittier. Reverend Nelson will officiate. Bill was born January 22, 1923, in Covington, Kentucky to Riley and Emma Lee. He graduated from high school and later serv ed in the Unites States Navy. He attended Whittier College and received his Masters Degree from USC. He was a proud alum and supporter of Purple and Gold . He retired from the El Monte City School District as Assistant Superintendent in 1985.His family wrote: "Bill loved all sports and his family was the joy of his life. He never met a person he did not like. He told a good story and was a gentle man. He always stated, "if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all." He will be mi ssed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jeanne, his three sons; Gary, Don, Bob and their wives Collette, Shari and Connie, his grandchildren; Brent and his wife Ana, Justin, Lauren, Scott and his wife Jenny, Lindsay, Jarrod, and many children that consider him their grandpa, or uncle. In lieu of flowers the family request your gift be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Society 2440 South Sepulveda Blvd., Suite 115, Los Angeles, CA 90064 or Whittier College, Purple and Gold, PO Box 634, Whittier CA. 90608.
