Isabelle Kirwin Obituary

Isabelle B. (Stevenson) Kirwin, 100, of Acton and a former longtime North Shore resident, died Mon., July 26, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton. She was the beloved wife of the late William Alvin Kirwin. Born in Willsboro, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Ladieu) Stevenson, and moved to Lynn with her family when she was two years old. Mrs. Kirwin was a graduate of the Lynn and Swampscott schools, and Henderson's Business College in Lynn. She was a secretary for Lynn Gas and Electric for over 25 years, then was employed for a local shoe manufacturer. She moved from the North Shore to Acton to live with her son, William, and his family in 1999. She is survived by her son, William C. "Bill" Kirwin and his wife Janet of Acton; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren, William Anthony Kirwin, his wife Allison and their children Liam and Mia Isabelle Kirwin all of West Yarmouthport, and James Patrick Kirwin of San Francisco. All are invited to visiting hours on Thurs. July 29th from 4:00-7:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111)Acton, with a Liturgy of the Word service to follow at 7:00pm. Interment in Swampscott Cemetery will be at a later date.

Saddened today, to have come across the obituary of the lovely Isabelle. Yet, I was heart warmed by the memories of our phone conversations a number of years back, discussing our shared Stevenson heritage. I will always remember her as a kind and gentle soul.
