Janet Scilipoti Obituary

Janet Scilipoti, of Quincy, age 95, died Sunday, Feb. 22, after a short illness. She will be remembered by family and friends as a cheerful spirit who thought of others first and strove always to enable their happiness. Born Janet Elisabeth Sutliffe in New Haven, Conn., she served in the Navy as a Lieutenant during WW II and married the late Clinton Scilipoti in 1947. The couple lived for several decades in Chappaqua , N.Y. before retiring to Dennis, Mass. where they lived happily for twenty-two years. They formed ties with the community through Clint's conservation-related service to the town, and Janet's volunteer work at the Dennis Memorial Library. More recently, Janet lived at the River Bay Club and The Atrium in Quincy, and was cared for lovingly by her family. She leaves behind daughter Nina Prikazsky, of Hanover, Mass.; son Anthony Scilipoti, of Cumberland, Maine; step-son Michael Scilipoti of Fayetteville, Pa.; and step-daughter Kate Ahmadi of Washingtonville, N.Y. She will be missed as well by grandchildren Kyle Lindas, Lucas Prikazsky and Tristan Scilipoti; and great-granddaughter Audrey Lindas. A private celebration of her life will be conducted in the spring.
