Lucy-

My deepest sympathies, Gene was a good man and had a positive influence on those who were fortunate enough to know him. I know words pale in comparison to the what you are feeling and going through at this time, but I hope knowing how you and Gene have touched so many lives will come with some comfort. You and Gene were there for me when I needed you most in my life and for that I will be forever grateful. Gene had many impacts on my life, but it was his adventurous spirit of the outdoors that had the most profound impact on me. He introduced me to a wondrous underwater world that helped focus my future, shaped my career, and my life's work. With each dive I have made around the world, there isn't one that I haven't thought about the gift Gene gave to me. Gene will be missed by many, I will miss him and I will always remember him. My thoughts, love, and prayers are with you in this most difficult time.

Dear Lucy, We are so very sorry for the loss of your husband Gene, he was a good man. We share your grief at this very sad and difficult time. We know words, can't mend your heartache, but please know we are thinking of you with love and wish you comfort and peace at this time.
The loss of your spouse is one of life's most profound losses, one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know, but know that their goodness, their love and caring and their wisdom lives on...this is their legacy of love that will always be with you. It will be with us also as we will never forget Gene, he was a wise, and wonderful person, we loved him and thought the world of him, and we will always have the memory of him to hold in our hearts. May you find strength in the love of your family, and God and in the warm embrace of friends. Our heart felt condolences,Thinking of you at this difficult time with much love, Theresa (Auciello), & Bart Shea and Family

Smile because he has lived,
Open your eyes and see all that he has left.
Let your Heart be full of the love that you shared,
Cherish his memory and let it live on,
And do what he would want:
smile, love and go on.
Rest in Peace Gene
