Jean M. Frye

1933 - 2017

Jean May (Cameron) Frye, 83, of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts passed away on January 17,2017 at an area hospital after a brief illness and a battle with Alzheimers. Jean was born in Weymouth to the late Edith and Cecil F. Sr. Cameron on December 21, 1933. She grew up in Weymouth eventually moving to the Bourne area and settling in Buzzards Bay with her husband Richard. She worked during her time in Weymouth as a shoe maker at Stetson Shoe Company, which she eventually left to be a fulltime mother to 6 children and a devoted homemaker. Jean enjoyed taking long car rides, playing Bingo, puzzles, watching NASCAR and spending time with family and friends. When not partaking in any of those activates Jean loved to cook and bake delicious meals and desserts for her family. She was a tremendous woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Jean is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Frye of Buzzards Bay, her sister Barbara Burrows of NC, her brother Gary Cameron and his wife Debbie of Norton, MA, her sister Ruth Baird of Weymouth, her children Vicky Frye of Bourne, Laura Blais of Bourne, William Frye of Buzzards Bay, David Frye of Buzzards Bay, and Phillip Frye of Buzzards Bay along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean is predeceased in death by her son, Richard Frye, brother, Cecil Cameron, sisters Nancy Rains and Edith Corwin. A memorial service for Jean will be held at St. Peters Church in Buzzards Bay on February 10, 2017 at 11:30, with an interment at the Otis National Cemetery at 13:15 hours.
