Brian Sampson Obituary

Brian Paul Sampson, 29 years of age, passed away unexpectedly at home from complications due to a known medical condition on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016. He was born in Weymouth and raised in Braintree where he graduated from Braintree High School Class of 2005. He later went on to receive his HVAC and small appliance Certificate from Bay State School of Technology, Canton in 2007. At the time of his passing, Brian was employed as the maintenance supervisor with Shaws Conference Center in Brockton. He was known in the family as a Jack of All Trades. Brian could fix anything around the house, from TVs and computers to building a nice country porch for relatives. There wasnt much that Brian couldnt handle. He was an avid softball player. Brian thoroughly enjoyed watching all of the New England sports teams as they dominated their opponents. He is survived by his loving parents Alan and Donna M. (Carmichael) Sampson of Braintree. Brian is the youngest brother to Alan Sampson and his wife Jen of Quincy, Teri Speer and her late husband Marty of Braintree, Ken Sampson of Braintree, Susan and her husband Mike Lang of Weymouth, and Laura and her husband Adam Powis of Haverhill. He was the devoted uncle of Kaitlyn, Emma, Gabriella Sampson, and Mason Lang all of whom he loved unconditionally. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brians grandparents were the late Albert and Helen Sampson and the late Walter and Mary Carmichael. Visiting hours were held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Friday, August 26th from 4-8 p.m. There was a gathering at the funeral home on Saturday, August 27th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, South Braintree Square at 10:30 a.m. Burial followed at Braintree Cemetery. Memorial donations in Brians name may be sent to the Department of Neurology at Boston Childrens Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
