Doris Boyce Obituary

Doris Fay Boyce, of Braintree, formerly of Rockland, died on May 15, 2017, at the age of 93. Doris was the beloved wife of the late Allen Francis Boyce. Born in Brockton, Doris was the devoted daughter of the late John J. Fay Sr. and Margaret L. (McGrath) Fay. She resided in Abington for many years. Doris was a graduate of Brockton Business College and a 1941 graduate of Abington High School, where she served as class secretary/treasurer. She was a retired office manager for Prudential Insurance Company. Mrs. Boyce lived in Westwood and Randolph before moving to Rockland in 1988. She was a communicant of St. Bridgets Church in Abington. Doris was a member of the Prudential Retired Employees Association, and the Abington High School Reunion Committee for many years. She enjoyed traveling, word puzzles and trips to the ocean. She was an avid Red Sox fan throughout her life! She is survived by a niece Elizabeth (Boyce) Nitti and her husband, Joseph of Newnan, Ga., a cousin Mary Rudolph and her husband John, of South Weymouth, Special Cousins Marion Cronin and Roslyn Curry of Haverhill, Donna and Stephen Stogryn of Gardina, Calif., and Jack and Carol McGrath of Hanover and Florida. She also leaves many dear friends and caring neighbors, especially Walter and Susan Simmons of Rockland. Doris was the sister of the late John J. Fay Jr. and his wife Jeanne and the sister-in-law of the late Charles Boyce and his wife Beverly, and the late Robert Boyce and his wife Mary. Visitation at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water Street, Rockland, on Saturday morning May 20, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m before leaving in procession to St. Bridgets Church, 455 Plymouth St., Abington where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment at the New Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris name may be made to St. Bridgets Church, 455 Plymouth St. Abington, MA 02351.
