Stephen Bonfiglioli Obituary

Stephen Earl Bonfiglioli, 74, of Braintree, died November 1, 2017 after a 22 year-long fight with multiple illnesses. He was at home surrounded by his wife, children, other loved ones, and dogs. Stephen respected two main things: devotion to family and a tireless work ethic. He had three separate paper routes by the age of nine. He was a graduate of Quincy Trade School. After six years in the Army Reserve, he joined the Quincy Fire department where he worked for the next 25 years. Concurrently with his career as a fireman, he also built a thriving automotive repair business and car dealership, which he then passed down to his son, Stephen Jr. He loved spending time with his family, working on cars, working on his boat, working in his wood shop, and making jewelry to give to others. He had a heart of gold. He was honest to a fault. He was generous. He was the definition of stability and guidance. At the end of every visit with him you got pep talk, whether you wanted it or not. He was always our biggest fan. He was a unique individual, in the truest sense of the words, and will be greatly missed, but never, ever, forgotten. Stephen Sr. is the son of the late Imo and Loretta Bonfiglioli of Quincy. He is survived by his wife Barbara, of Braintree; two brothers, Ronald and his wife Anne, of Braintree and John and his wife Pamela, of Quincy; a daughter, Annette Oliver and her husband David, of South Weymouth; a son, Stephen Jr. and his wife Maria Bonfiglioli, of Braintree; a daughter, Loretta Bonfiglioli of Hingham; two step daughters Rebecca Glancy and her husband David, of Scituate and Allison Lamie and her husband Mark, of Weymouth. As well as 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service held at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy on Monday, November 6, at 10:30 a.m. . Burial at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery. Calling hours on Sunday, November 5, from 2 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Steve has asked that donations be made to the Quincy Animal Shelter, 56 Broad St., Quincy, MA 02169.
