Warren Quinn Obituary

Warren E. Quinn passed away peacefully at home on Monday July 31st 2017, in the loving company of his family and caregivers. His family is grateful for the ongoing support and condolences from those who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Quinn of Chatham, who passed away in April of 2017. They met at the Reno Dinner in Orleans in 1952, were married in 1954 and spent 63 years by each others side. Warren, the ever devoted husband, loved and supported Mary Ann and their five children, gave his life to their happiness and brightened and enriched their lives and the lives of those close to him with his humor, compassion and wisdom. Born in Eastham at the Nettie Knowles Birthing House, on December 18th 1929, Warren was the last living son of the late Lester and Eva Quinn. He grew up alongside his four brothers, Howard, Ellis, William and Leslie and resided in Orleans his entire life. He is survived by his five children, Lucinda Deschamps, Sandra Larsen, David Quinn, James Quinn and Thomas Quinn. Additionally, his six grandchildren to whom he was affectionally known as Poppy and five great-grandchildren with one more great grandchild expected this fall. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, extended family and loving friends who he cherished and adored every day until his last moments. A proud United States Coast Guard Veteran, Warren served in the Cape Cod Coast Guard for several years and would fondly reminisce about keeping the light lit at Nauset Light in Eastham. He was also stationed in Provincetown on the night of the famous Pendleton Rescue with the CG36500. Warren additionally served as a Lieutenant in the Orleans Fire Department for 20 years and volunteered his time and life willingly to the service and safety of the Orleans community. He was well known for his lenthly career in structure relocation and moved houses and buildings all over Cape Cod throughout his working life. He was also built dry laid stone walls for landscape and retaining walls and constructed several dozen walls that can still be found on location around the Cape. After retiring he drove a school bus for 10 years for the Nauset Public School System and was involved in manufacturing silver/lead Z Jig-heads for the late RonZ Fishing Lures Company. Warren was a member of the Model A Ford Club of America and his passion and favorite pastimes included restoring both original Model A Ford and Model T Ford Automobiles in his garage and showing them at auto shows around the Cape. He was also a licensed pilot and enjoyed countless hours of flying his own planes over the Cape and Islands and flying his Kitty-Hawk into Chatham Airport to fetch His girl. Warrens family is truly saddened by their profound losses this year, but have found peace and comfort in knowing that Warren and Mary Ann are together again and all is as it should be. All services will be private. Those wishing to commemorate his life are asked to do so with a simple act of kindness. in leu of flowers; donations can be made in his memory to the Hooved Animal Sanctuary at www.hooved.org. We are very sorry about hearing about Warren's passing. Please accept our condolences. We are the recipient of one of Warren's beautiful "dry" walls on Freeman Ln and think often on Warren when he was building them in 1986.
