David Morse Obituary

David C. Morse, 88, of Saxonville, died peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Veronca J. (Olszewski) Morse. They had been married for the past 65 years. Born in Framingham, he was a lifelong resident of Framingham and Saxonville and was the son of the late Paul and Frances (Richards) Morse. Mr. Morse worked for the United States Postal Service for 37 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, where he received numerous medals including the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and European / African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 4 Bronze Service Stars and also, the American Theatre Ribbon. In addition, he was a member of the Framingham Heart Study. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael D. Morse of Wilmington, Timothy P. Morse and Karen Dmohowski of Framingham, two daughters, Terri Sorensen of Holliston and her husband James, Bonnie J. Morse of Clinton, one brother, James Morse and his wife Helli of Worcester, one sister, Norma Surrette of Hopkinton, one granddaughter, Melissa Grondine and husband Michael of Marlborough, two great-grandsons, Liam and Tyler Grondine of Marborough , also survived by many nieces and nephews, he was also father of the late Billy Morse, brother of the late Paul, Virginia, Shirley, June, Carolyn, Connie and Ruth. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 12 pm in St. George's Church, 74 School Street, Saxonville (Framingham). Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham will be on Tuesday April 1, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
