Charles Chambers Obituary

Charles O. Chambers, Jr., 75, died Monday night December 6, 2010 after a long illness. Born in Boston on July 8, 1935 he was the son of the late Charles O. Sr., and Alice G. (Egan) Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a graduate of Boston Latin High School and Harvard College. After his graduation from Harvard he entered the Navy in 1957. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Lt.JG. Mr. Chambers was employed for many years at the U.S.M. Company in Beverly. He was very active in the Ipswich Youth Soccer and was also active in the Ipswich Music Parents Association. Mr. Chambers is survived by Marcia M. (Mason) Chambers of Ipswich, 3 children: twin daughters: Jacqueline E. Phypers and her husband Jonathan of Rowley, Jennifer M. Chambers of Ipswich and son Philip C. Chambers and his wife Alexandra of Newburyport. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Catherine Phypers, Thatcher Phypers, John Chambers and Mason Chambers, 1 sister Ellen Rooney of Fredericksburg, VA and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday December 10th at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church 52 Main Street, Essex. Burial was in the Holyhood Cemetery 587 Heath Street, Brookline. Visiting hours were Thursday December 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends were respectfully invited. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Chambers name to: the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts Chapter 311 Arsenal Street Watertown, MA 02472.
