Helen McKay

1929 - 2019

Helen (Bouranis) McKay, age 89, of Haverhill and formerly of Ipswich, passed peacefully Saturday morning, May 25, 2019 at Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late Clayton J. McKay, who died July 7, 2011. Born in Ipswich, December 2, 1929, she was one of three daughters of the late Nicholas and Bessie (Pappas) Bouranis and had attended Ipswich High School. For many years she worked as a seamstress at the former Hayward Hosiery in Ipswich and had also worked at Williams Bakery in Ipswich. She is survived by her son, Michael J. McKay and wife Pamela of Georgetown; her daughter, Jane Sherlock and husband Gardner of Blue Ridge, GA; four grandchildren, Matthew McKay and wife Joanna; Molly McKay-Moody and husband Neil; Kyle McKay; and Nanci Corsi and husband Adam of Atlanta, GA; five great-grandchildren, Piper and Ted Corsi, Dylan and Donovan McKay and Ayden Moody, along with several generations of nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by two brothers, Nicholas and George Bouranis, and three sisters, Christina Vounessea, Georgia Lane and Jenna Pappas. Graveside services will be private for the family. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill.
