Sincere prayers from my heart to all of Holly's family. She was a positive influence in my life during those impressionable high school years. Generous, kind and happy is how I'll always remember my dear friend.

My prayers to Holly's family. I went through school with her and was a Children's Librarian at the time of her first book. She was so generous with her time and sharing the book with the kids. I will never forget her smile. She is at peace and watching over her children.

I never met Holly, but I know her work. She touched the lives, the very souls, of each child or teacher who reads a book illustrated by her. I just wanted to offer my sincere blessings to her family. And to say, thank you, to Holly. Her life touched many through her art! She'll always be remembered!

Holly, I truly only "met" you about 4 years ago. But, I was so happy and impressed that you were part of my family. I bought your books and read them to my grandchildren. You will be sorely missed. God bless and accept you into heaven where you will help watch over all of the children.

I am so sad to read this. Holly was a dear and talented person whom I have always admired. I was so proud of her when she did her first book and continued to be proud as she furthered her career. I am happy to say I have some of her art work on my walls and have saved all her Christmas cards. She had a unique and distinctive style that I have always loved.
My prayers and love are with all the family as you go through the days, weeks and months ahead.

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.
(Thoreau ) Holly found beauty in all she saw, & I am better for knowing her. She was truly loved by all that had the gift to know her.
We are saddened to know she doesn't shine here, yet know she is still giving her warmth & light to all who need it.

A huge chunk of my childhood has been torn away. Holly was a dear friend in my youngest years and I always admired and loved her. I still have her books that my children enjoyed as I proudly told them about my old friend. The world was fortunate to have such a blessed gem for this short but sweet time. I send my love and blessings to all of her family.

Holly was a student of mine at HWRHS. I can still picture her as she was then - and the beautiful smile has not changed. She was unique, intelligent, kind, gracious and graceful. Most of all, I remember her prodigious artistic talent which she used to illustrate projects even in high school. I am very sorry for your loss. The world is diminished by her absence.

Dear Family of Holly, I am very sad at the passing of this beautiful woman and artist. I knew Holly when I lived in Hamilton and my mother Mary Schade was a close artist friend of hers. In my mother's later years, each of Holly's original Christmas cards to my mother were admired and treasured. She left us too young. I wish you deep peace.

Jenny & Noah, My most sincere condolences. Holly did not know what an amazing teacher she had become. She taught me how to persevere, endure, be determined with just the right amount of defiance. She taught me acceptance and how to surrender with grace and strength. She will always be a part of this community. I am a better person for knowing her.
