Joyce Riddle

Joyce (Horsman) Riddle, 74, wife of Robert C. Riddle, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning February 9, 2011 in the Beverly Hospital after a long illness. Born in Ipswich on March 24, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Stevens) Horsman. Mrs. Riddle was educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School. She was a long-time resident of Ipswich. She was employed as a function events manager for many years at the V.F.W. Post# 1093 and also at the Carrollton Club# 498, both of Ipswich. Mrs. Riddle was a life-long member of the former V.F.W.Post# 1093 Ladies Auxiliary. She had a lot of friends. Mrs. Riddle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Riddle is survived by, in addition to her husband Robert of Ipswich, four children and their spouses: Susan (Barter) McKay of Ipswich, Leslie (Barter) and Robert Howard of Big Pine Key, FL, William D. and Eileen Barter of Lady Lake, FL, Margaret H. Barter and her partner James Loftman of Lake Worth, FL. She is also survived by four step-children and their spouses: Danny Riddle, Paula (Riddle) and Stan Viator, Robert E. and Toni Riddle, Richard and Carron Riddle, all of Ipswich. Mrs. Riddle is survived by 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her step-daughter Dorothy Riddle formerly of Ipswich, and by her two brothers: Thomas Horsman and David Horsman both formerly of Ipswich. Graveside services will be held Wednesday February 23rd. at 10:00 A.M. in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
