Avak Avakian, 97, of Concord, by way of Worcester, passed on June 19th, 2021. WWII veteran and recipient of France's highest Medal of Honor, advisor to the National Academy of Science, Vice President of GTE Government Systems, holder of US semiconductor patents, McGill University honors grad, consultant to Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester Boy's Club regular, altar boy at America's first Armenian Church, Son of the late Mariam and Boghos Avakian, brother of the late Sarkis and Elizabeth Avakian, husband of the late Rose Ansourlian and father to Marilyn, Paul and Jeffrey Avakian.
