Matthew Gorham Obituary
Matthew H. Gorham, 47, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Tracy (Geary) Gorham, and son of Howard W. and Barbara (Goerts) Gorham, died Friday, February 21, 2014. He was born January 6, 1967 in Danbury, and grew up in Newtown. Matt was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University, having received his Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing Engineering. He was the East Coast Regional Manager of Kavlico and a faithful member of the Valley Community Baptist Church who enjoyed participating in the Men's Group at the Church. Matt was a Little League Baseball Coach, and if he wasn't playing catch with his son or attending his children's activities he would be out walking his dog, Lily. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors biking, hiking, skiing, golfing and gardening. Besides his wife Tracy of 21 years, he is survived by his loving children, Kelly, Katie and Daniel; his parents; his siblings, Jennifer Ober and her husband Garry of Newtown, James Gorham and his wife Peggy of Avon, John Gorham and his wife Susan of Concord, NH and as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Thursday, February 27th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 28th, 11:00 AM at the Valley Community Baptist Church, 590 West Avon Road in Avon. Burial will follow in the Simsbury Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Matthew H. Gorham Children's Educational Fund, C/O Simsbury Bank, 981 Hopmeadow Street, PO Box 248, Simsbury, CT 06070. Tracy, my sincere condolences to you and the children. I worked with Matt at UTC Power for a few years and I can sincerely say that he was a wonderful Christian friend and brother to me. I appreciated him very much and I will miss him greatly. The Lord grant you and the children His comfort and peace at this time of great loss. My thoughts and prayers are with each one of you.
