George McAdams Obituary

George Francis McAdams, 74, of Duxbury, formerly of Kingston passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 26, 2017 while wintering in Bradenton, FL following a courageous battle with cancer. George was a proud military veteran, who continued his generous community service throughout his life improving the lives of his family and community selflessly. He was a creative saleman with the Irish gift of gab that naturally drew people to him. He was a tireless and innovative entrepreneur consistently racking up wins big and small. George lived a life rich in humor, infused with unbounded, positive energy, all enhanced by that unforgettable twinkle in his sparkling blue eyes. His love of life and laughter will live on through his cherished companion, Janis Ford of Weymouth, and his children, Colin McAdams of Bradenton, Florida, Brett and Liza McAdams of Kingston, and granddaughter Ashley Sanders of Bradenton, FL. Internment at Bourne National Cemetery at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 3355 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34205.

George McAdams demonstrated the best we can be in this world. Generous, kind and living and loving life. Our paths crossed at Island Creek, where my daughter lives. George was always looking out for my girl and other residents at IC. And George was kind to all kind people without judgement. I was lucky to know him. Thank you.

Love the photos! What a great smile and easy-going manner George had. Colin, you were lucky to have inherited both. I'm so glad you got to spend so much time together in the last few years. I'm also thankful he had the love and support of Janis. A good woman by your side is a beautiful thing.
Much love,

To my best friend and near daily companion at Island Creek - almost from day one when I moved there. We had an instant connection, our love of God, Life, Nature, the Beach, & People. These past 5 yrs were way too short, but absolutely wonderful, with one of the nicest guys I've ever known. I sometimes lived vicariously through your many past adventures that you so enthusiastically shared, I hung on every word. I will always remember your sweet smile, your infectious laugh, delightful sense of humor, your help, support & encouragement, your spiritual guidance, your mentor-ship, & most of all your amazing friendship. I treasure the memories. I miss you terribly, already. I loved you so much my very dear friend, I love you still, I always will, forever & ever, until we meet again. My heartfelt sympathy to all your loved ones, especially during this very difficult time.

Will miss the stories, long but fascinating; Ethiopia, Vieques, farmers pride, epic sailing adventures, narrow escapes. The wisdom's imparted. It was a blast to have you as an uncle when we were younger and as a wise spiritual advisor in recent years. You enjoyed the heck out of your 74 years here on earth and left it a better place with your tireless lifelong service to all. The boys and I are eternally grateful for all you have done for us and will miss you desperately. While reading the daily bread with you I learned that "in God there is no darkness". You embodied that light, and it will live on through all of us whose lives you graciously touched. It is my hope that you are dancing table tops with Michael Jackson and rocking up in heaven with your loved ones. With lots of love and appreciation Leslie, Christian ,Griffin ,Lucas, and Robey Hines-McAdams
