Karen Byrne

1958 - 2016

Karen (Linscott) Byrne, of Hingham, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the age of 58 from the complications of brain cancer. Beloved wife of 35 years to Thomas F. Byrne, of Hingham. Cherished mother to Corylynn Byrne of Hull. Loving sister to Robert Ruscansky of Quincy, Mark Ruscansky of Hingham, Malcolm Linscott and Gar Linscott both of Hingham, Stephen Linscott of Braintree, and Stephanie Pizzeli of Hull. Karen was born and raised in Hingham where she graduated from Hingham High School, class of 1977. She graduated in 1979 from Burdet Business School in Boston. She then worked for ten years as a professional secretary for multiple businesses before moving on to pursue her passion in landscaping and spend more time with her family. Karen loved nature and all of its beauty. She loved everything from vegetables, to flowers, to giant pumpkins and her landscaping throughout the South Shore. She was an avid dog lover and hummingbird enthusiast. Karen was an incredibly hard working, loving person who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visiting hours for Karen at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street Hingham, on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4 p.m. | 8 p.m. At the familys request, a private interment will be held.
