I am so incredibly saddened at Matt's passing... but at the same time, I can't help get a smile when I think of all the happy memories I have when I think of Matt. We started out together at Hearst-Jaffe (in 1995)and rose through the ranks as researchers, pitch writers, producers and directors. I sat across from MAtt for over a year-- and LOVED reading whatever he wrote (and hoped I could, one day, write as well as him). His acid wit always gave me a laugh, too. Watching him build a company with Luke (another Hearst-Jaffe) alum heartened me-- I am so proud of all they've built.
Matt was a rare talent-- he'll always occupy a place in my heart.

When I worked with Matt, I was the newbie. He always offered help, a kind word and any support I needed on my shows. He was quick with a joke, welcoming and he even filled in the "tribal knowledge" on the company when politics loomed large. Even in that limited, professional sliver of his life – he touched mine. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends.

Matt touched so many people here in Los Angeles through his formidable talents as a producer and writer; his kindness and generosity; and his sharp wit. He will be deeply missed.
