Walter Wojtasinski Obituary

Walter K. "Wally" Wojtasinski, age 86, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully July 22, in the loving comfort of family. Wally, longtime resident of Hingham, Mass., is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara M. (Salvato) Wojtasinski. Wally was predeceased by his son, Walter R. Wojtasinski and survived by his children, Steven and Linda Wojtasinski of Hingham, John and Antoinette Wojtasinski of Kingston, Mass., Richard J. Wojtasinski of Key Largo, Christian Sommariba of Managua, Mitchell and Robin Wojtasinski of Braintree, Mass., and Donna and Richard Stull of South Carolina. He loved each of his 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Walter was deeply loved by family and friends and was most known for his generosity, contagious smile, and dedication to family. Wally worked hard throughout his years to provide a life filled with opportunity for his children and grandchildren. He served on active duty with the Merchant Marines during World War II. Following Wallys retirement from active duty in 1945, he became a leader and innovator in the seafood industry by developing many products and markets. Wally established profitable companies and his work ethic, persistence, and integrity were inspiring to those around him. He selflessly provided for his family and friends and was known for sharing fond memories of his childhood and family heritage with all. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the loving support of friends, members of the extended community, and especially those who cared for him at the V.A. Boston Healthcare System, Brockton Campus. A memorial service in celebration of Wallys life was held at Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Hingham, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m. Donations to the Wounded Warrior charity are appreciated in memory of Walter K.
