Barbara McMahon Obituary

Barbara Marie (MacDonald) McMahon, 90, of Bridgewater passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born on January 18, 1931, in Quincy, she was the daughter of Leslie MacDonald and Joan (Ash) MacDonald. She moved to California in the early 1950s and returned to Massachusetts in 1984. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 24 years. Barbara was an avid reader and became an early adopter of e-reading on the first Kindle. She loved a good story and enjoyed stream binging her favorite shows. She also enjoyed traveling to the southern coast of Maine and to Colorado. She was smart and quick-witted with a dry sense of humor. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim, her loving daughters, Lynne and Ginger, her sons, John, Scott, James, Bob and Jim; as well as by her granddaughters, Heather, Alena, Angela, Allison and Elise, and her grandsons, Jason, Brian and Dennis; and great-grandchildren, Hayley, Layla, Jake, Robbie and Shelby, and best friend, Bea of California. She was predeceased by her sisters, Babe and Joan, and her much-beloved poodle Bebe. Barbara requested a delayed memorial service for after the pandemic, so that everyone may celebrate her life while living to the fullest.
