Edward Peabody Obituary

Edward L. Peabody, 71, of Raynham passed away suddenly September 30, 2014, at Mass General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Susan R. (Perry) Peabody for 47 years. Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of the late Lionel and Sophie (Bator) Peabody. Ed graduated from Taunton High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served from 1961 to 1965. He graduated with an accounting degree from Bentley College and started a career in accounting which led to a successful sales career retiring in 2008. In the early morning hours, he enjoyed coffee at Mels Diner. You could then find him perfecting his love of weaving Nantucket baskets, gardening and spending time with his family, friends and the lights of his life - his three grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife Susan, he is survived by his daughter, Karen, and son-in-law, Victor Jimenez of Newbury; and his son, Mark, and daughter-in-law, Karen Peabody of Bridgewater. He was the very dear Papa of Samuel (4), and Juliana (2), of Bridgewater, and Ellie (2) of Newbury. He is also survived by his brother, Alan, and sister-in-law, Kathleen Peabody of Raynham; his nieces and nephew; and his incredible network of friends. Visitation has been omitted. A celebration of life service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Raynham Sunday, October 12, at 2 p.m. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Eds name to the Peabody Family Scholarship Fund, c/o B-R CSF, P.O. Box 380, Bridgewater, MA 02324. Ed will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. To leave a sympathy message for the family, please visit www.d-mfh.com.
