Elsie was such a nice lady. I feel fortunate to have stayed in her home for a while when I was in graduate school. She was gentle, wise, and a good teacher by example of how she lived her life..

I stayed in Elsie’s home for probably less than a year around 1991 when I was finishing a master’s degree at Bridgewater State College ( that was the name of the school back then ). She knew me by another name. Elsie had lost her husband not real long ago , and the family thought it might be good for her to have some company. I have never forgotten Elsie all these years. She was such a lady , and had attained a life’s worth of wisdom about such things as nutrition, relations between men and women, the behavior of men, and the like ,which she shared with me in a maternal, but never judgmental or intrusive way. Her kind manner made it possible for me to hear something I didn’t want to see. Thus, she saved me from making a foolish mistake in a relationship one time, which I would have regretted. I still remember it very clearly. I am writing this in 2024 ,when at 72, I may now be near ,or even past the age she was when I lived there. Thank you, Elsie, for your wisdom, gentleness, kindness, friendship, caring, , and your fine example. I have never forgotten you. And, just so you know, I gave up being a vegetarian long ago, and added a little meat back into my diet, which would make you happy . I think you were right about that, too. RIP dear lady.

Tom, Bob and Terry,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. She was a wonderful person. I will always remember her trying to keep all of us under control when we where at your home playing cards or just goofing off. My thoughts are with you and your families. Patti (Gingras) Clark
