Olof Dahlstrand Obituary
He was a talented architect and artist whose career included the design of many homes and buildings in the Carmel area such as the Wells Fargo Bank building, and in the S.F. bay area as well. As an artist he belonged to the Carmel Art Association and enjoyed both painting and drawing. He was also commissioned by many other architects to do important architectural renderings including the J.F. Kennedy gravesite presentation drawings. His archives were acquired by the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley.
Olof remained very active in community affairs while living in Carmel, serving on the planning commission for a total of nine years, and city council for three years. When not serving in public office, he often spoke up at council meetings on issues about which he cared deeply.
Contributions may be made to the Carmel Art Association or to the donor's choice of charities.

I think of you, Olof, and miss my time with you. You were, and are, an inspiration to me. I'm so glad for the opportunity to have worked for you; it was a life-changing experience for which I'll be forever grateful. In the last few years, while building a house, I've regretted that I couldn't get your expert architectural advice. I miss you, Olof.

I was fortunate to have worked for Mr. Dahlstrand as a draftsman in his architecture practice. He was a creative, artistic and kind man. I shall always remember him fondly and be proud to have known him.
