Robert Coe Obituary

Robert Allen "Bobby" Coe passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Easton, Wednesday, Feb. 25, just 5 days after his 39th birthday. He had inspired and touched so many lives in his young life in spite of his affliction with Duchenes Muscular Dystrophy and confinement to an electric wheelchair. Bobby attended Easton schools as well as the Mass. Hospital School in Canton. Bobby attended Massasoit Community College as well. He served as a disability counselor to many and was on the disability board for the town of Easton. Bobby loved all the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots and Bruins, attending many games. His love was also animals, music and was an avid artist, painting many pictures with the use of a brush in his mouth and his electric wheelchair alone. He was an incredible inspiring friend to all and had unique qualities of compassion, listening, extreme kindness and communication skills, especially those afflicted with all disabilities. He leaves his wife, Nicole Warren Coe; his parents, Jonathan Jackson Coe and Paula (McCarthy) Coe; his sister, Sarah (Coe) Anestam and husband Emil Anestam, and their children, Sofia and Bo; his brother, Brian Jackson Coe and wife Kristen (Tighe) Coe, and son, Jackson Coe. He also leaves a very large family of wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Coe and McCarthy families that are too many to mention and loved him so. He will be sadly missed by so many that helped and supported Bobby, from nurses, doctors, PCAs, etc., throughout the years. Bobby now joins in Heaven all his passed friends and family and especially his grandparents, Frederick Allen Coe and Bunny (Miner) Coe, Evelyn (Locke) McCarthy and Charles McCarthy that he adored and was adored by. Bobby was a direct descendent of The Rev. Dr. Robert Wood Coe and Ellen Thomas Jackson Coe, the famous frontier photographer, campaigned and helped the foundation of the Republican party during Abraham Lincolns presidential election; (Uncle Wil ) William Henry Jackson. Also (Uncle Sam) Samuel Wilson of Troy, N.Y., whose actions during the War of 1812 as a meatpacker to the U.S. troops, later was characterized as the figure we know today as Uncle Sam. Service at Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138), Easton, Saturday, February 28, 2015, where visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. So sorry to hear about Bobby's passing. He was a wonderful person. When I think of him, I see him in my music classes for many years and especially "standing" on the stage as King in my Cinderella play at Parkview. It was also a pleasure to visit his high school while he performed in their musical performances. I've enjoyed seeing Bobby around town, especially at Precinct 2 while voting. He will always be thought of kindly and missed by many.
