Agrippina Abate Obituary

Agrippina M. Billie Abate, age 98, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Blue Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Boston, raised and educated in South Boston schools. Billie graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester. She had lived in Quincy since 1970, previously living in Dorchester. Billie worked as a homemaker. She was also employed as a clerical worker at the Cabot Corporation of Boston for over ten years. She enjoyed making trips to Foxwoods and especially adored her grandchildren. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at the Blue Hills for their compassionate care. Beloved wife of the late Albert P. Abate. Devoted mother of Albert F. Abate and his wife Sandra G. of Rockport, Maine and Joanne P. Linehan of Quincy. Loving grandmother of Joanne Gallahue of Weymouth, Matthew Gallahue of Quincy and Bryan Gallahue of Quincy. She was one of seven siblings and is survived by Mary Gannon of Florida. Funeral Services were conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Thursday, July 10th at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends were invited to attend. Visitation was held Thursday morning, July 10th from 10-11 a.m. Interment was at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Billies memory may be made to a charity of your choice. You are invited to visit www.thesweeneybrothers.com or call 617-472-6344.

I am very sorry for your loss. However, you can take comfort in the Bible, specifically at 1 Thessalonians 4: 14, which says "For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those have fallen asleep in death through Jesus."
