To Mr. Joseph J. Bellissimo's Family:
I offer you my deepest condolences on the loss of my former colleague, "Joe B." Joe B was a GREAT COP. He had a great personality and helped everybody. I can't even remember a time when Joe B wasn't smiling when I saw him. And WOW could Joe B eat (joking). Please take care and stay strong in this trying time.
Love,

One rainy day I was sitting in the Central Sq barber shop and Joe walked in. He was on duty. He asked the barber to spray some hair color to cover his greys. Then went out to do traffic. A half hour later he came back in with black dye running down his face - we all busted a gut laughing. Joe was a great guy and a fun colleague. Always made you laugh. Thoughts to June and the family.

Joe was truly one of the best who patrolled the streets of Cambridge. His great smile and sense of humor will always be remembered. Thank you Joe for so many great memories. I will always treasure the good times we shared.

It was back in the day when we were all sitting around the guard room for the 4pm shift , as Lieutenant Harold Murphy was starting to read role call from the podium as he started Joe B walked in behind him , shirtless with that great silver hair slicked back, a towel draped around his shoulders, shirtless, wearing only shorts and flip flops all tanned up. We all broke up laughing, Harold turned around speechless, Joe looked back at Harold and said, I'll be with you in a few . I just gotta shower, we couldn't stop laughing, that was Joe, whether you needed him to break the tension or be right there with you on the toughest of calls, he was a friend, mentor and big brother to all of us. Rest In Peace Joe and God Bless your family.

Joe was a long time friend from the neighborhood who visited my restaurant several times a week to check-in and tease his sister Rose, the school crossing guard at the corner. Joe's smile and playful, joyous spirit will be missed.
Sending our sincere sympathy to the family.
